Pair your door-mounted spare tire with the SR1 to transport 1 or 2 bikes. Sturdy rack adjusts to center bikes on vehicles with offset spares. The mounting brace clamps around tires up to 15" wide, and 3 straps secure rack to tire.

Note: This bike carrier is not intended for use on spare tires mounted on trailers.
Tired of your vehicle's rear-mounted spare tire preventing you from using most trunk- and hitch-mounted bicycle carriers? No more worries. The SR1 bike rack mounts to your spare and lets you transport up to two bikes on the back of your vehicle.
SR1 Installation
This easy-to-use rack fits spare tires up to 15 inches wide and with any bolt pattern. Simply loosen the adjustment bolts to widen the mounting brace to fit your spare, place the brace over the spare, and tighten the bolts until the rack is snug. Then wrap the side strap under the bottom of the tire and the two front straps around the back of the tire to minimize side-to-side and front-to-back movement of the rack.
Pivoting Arms
Dual, pivoting arms support your bikes and better accommodate women's, children's and alternative frames. (An adapter bar [HRBA-PRO - sold separately] may still be required.) The spring-loaded arms can be folded in when you're not using the rack.
Adjustable Support Bar for Offset Spares
If you have an offset spare tire, the support bar on which the arms are mounted can be installed 4-1/2" to the left or 4-1/2" to the right side of the rack base. This centers your bikes on your vehicle, keeping them from hanging out to the side.
Soft Cradles
Soft rubber cradles with straps firmly grip your bike's frame. The cradles rotate and slide along the arms, so you can easily adjust them based on the type and number of bikes you're transporting. And you can use the integrated safety strap to help keep your bikes tied down.
A cable lock (sold separately) are recommended to deter theft of the rack and your bikes.

Install looks great Lem! Prefect rack for your set-up, and I made sure to pass your kind words over to Jerry, I can agree with him being excellent!! Do you have a specific trail you like to ride? We have the Katy trail here in Missouri, it gets jammed packed with riders!

Happy to hear the rack is working out so well for you, David! Do you mostly do biking around town or have you traveled anywhere fun with your bikes?

This bike rack weathered a wet and warm season down south like a champ. No complaints from me about its ease of use and durability.

Still love the rack, after modifications. I hope Etrailer understands the problem installing the rack on the OEM spare tire on the Toyota Fj. Without the mod pictured in my review, the bikes cannot be held securely.

If you are interested, an adapter bar like part # HRBA-PRO would hold your mountain bike in a more level position in the spare tire carrier.

Thank you for sending in the product review and photo! You might want to consider a frame adapter bar like # 64005. The adapter bar would span the distance from the seat post to the handlebar gooseneck, and will allow you to carry the bike so that it is level. It will also provide more ground clearance under the bike.

Do the straps stay tight? It concerns me that the straps are only threaded through the buckles. I would feel more secure with ratchet-tightened straps. Did you notice any problem with straps loosening?

They stayed tight for me. I weaved them through the frame for added security.

After one year, rack seems to be holding up well to frequent use. Stayed secure on tire throughout summer. Removed during winter and reinstalled this spring. Still happy with this purchase.

The Thule Spare Me rack, part # TH963PRO is more expensive, but its easier to use and is capable of being offset so that the bikes are centered on the rear of the vehicle. The rack is also lockable to the vehicle, and a cable lock is included to secure the bikes to the rack.

I did hear back from Hollywood Racks about the bike rack. They advised that you can cut the cradles in half, then spread them just far enough apart to accommodate the bikes in question. The straps will have plenty of stretch left in them to allow for the additional width.

Would this work on a spare tire on a 2010 Keystone Passport Ultralight Trailer? The spare is attached to the 4 inch bumper of the trailer.

Do you have a question about this Spare Tire Bike Rack?
Condition: Installed
Notes: Item has been previously test fitted and has cosmetic signs of use including being slightly dirty.

Glad it's working well for you, Donald! Also glad you found it for your motorhome! Most people use this with their Jeeps due to the tire they have on the back. Hopefully more people follow your lead! Where did the trip take you?
